I am sorry for your struggles. I came right to this post b/c I am a milk free mom and I want to help others who have this diet restriction. But I do not follow those other restrictions. I wish you the best in finding a match for your little girl.

Milk needed - MANY diet restrictions Empty can only offer kind words

It sounds like you have your hands full. I can't help you with the milk, as mine has most of the things your little one can't have, but I can tell you to hang in there. You are doing the best you can and don't let your doctor bully you. I've felt bullied by my daughter's doctor at times. It's not a good feeling.

Milk needed - MANY diet restrictions Empty Milk needed - MANY diet restrictions

Post by haleysmommy Fri Aug 06, 2010 7:19 pm

My daughter is 8 months old and hasn't gained any weight, more or less, since she was 4 months old.

We've been through the wringer with food allergies and while I've narrowed it down to what those foods are, a posterior tongue tie (undiagnosed until about 4 weeks ago) has made my supply extremely low.

Even with domperidone, pumping with a Symphony, and many other herbal galactagogues I can't seem to make enough. She's still not gaining (although she's improved overall since the tongue tie issue was addressed).

At this point I'm being threatened by my doctor because of the no weight gain and I'm starting to worry and feel extremely stressed -- which isn't helping my milk supply issues!

Formula hasn't been an option but I'm looking into Neocate and Elecare -- but I'd rather get milk from a human being rather than something created in a laboratory. ETA: Neocate contains corn syrup solids and vegetable oil (soy) which she's allergic to.

These are the foods my daughter is allergic to: cow dairy, goat dairy, soy, gluten, corn, oats, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, sunbutter, rice, cantaloupe, watermelon, raisins, bananas, potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers.

Is there anyone that can help me?
