I have milk I pumped stored in a chest type deep freezer, in a box, from when my daughter was born. She was in the NICU for 17 days and I stopped pumping when she was ~3weeks old. I'm not sure of the exact dates on the milk, but all were during the month of October 09. I'm also not quite sure of the quantity, but there are quite a few bags in there. Some of the bags are 8 oz and were collected from no more than 2 pumping sessions. Everything was frozen after a cooling period of a few hours in the fridge. When I get a family who is willing to take the milk, I'll go dig around and find out exact dates and amounts, but I don't want to go upsetting or unthawing anything. I thawed and used some about 4 weeks ago after I had surgery and it smelled/tasted fine, but I know that 1 year is the max for deep freezing the milk.
