Freya needs milk! Empty Re: Freya needs milk!

Hi, sorry to hear of your breastfeeding difficulties! I hope I can help you.

I'm in Brier (near Kenmore), so pretty close to you I think. I have a 2 year-old daughter that I still nurse 2-3 times a day. I don't normally pump anymore, but hubby and daughter are out of town together, so I will be pumping this week. She only drinks breastmilk from the source, so I would like to donate whatever I pump. I will probably have about 100 oz by the end of the week, and this will probably be a one-time donation, but I do have another 100 oz or so in the freezer from the last trip if you want that.

I am healthy, athletic, and eat a healthy (though certainly not perfect!) mostly vegetarian, organic-whenever-possible diet, and take only vitamins and calcium. I had all the blood screening tests (HIV, Hep, CMV, and whatever else they do) during early preg, and have not engaged in any sort of risky behaviour since. I can show you the results. As full disclosure, I broke my ankle last week so I have been taking Ibuprofen, but only at night (it will be after pumping, and a good 10 hours or more before the next pumping, though Ibuprofen is not contraindicated for breastfeeding). I do drink coffee, but it's half-decaf, and not usually before pumping.

I donated several times to a milkshare mom back when I was pumping, and her munchkin seemed very happy with my milk. Let me know if interested, you could pick it up next weekend.

Freya needs milk! Empty Freya needs milk!

Post by lizku Sat Jan 21, 2012 12:46 am

My daughter Freya just turned 7 weeks old and we've been struggling with supply issues since birth. Unfortunately, I have insufficient glandular tissue and only produce a few ounces of milk each day. I've been doing all I can to increase my supply, but this seems to be as good as it gets. It's especially sad to me because Freya is eager to breastfeed and has had a perfect latch since birth.

If anyone has milk they would like to donate to me please let me know. I really wanted to exclusively breastfeed Freya and never anticipated having this problem. Right now we are supplementing with soy formula.

I live in the Northshore area but I can come to you anywhere in the greater Puget Sound area. Thanks!
