update!
Thought I would post a little update for the moms that have shared their milk with zeke and the moms that hopefully will in the future!
Zeke was struggling to drink the calories he needed and started losing weight. We were always fighting dehydration and he was always tired. He was not himself anymore. So with the help of his GI doctor, nutritionist and feeding therapist we decided we needed to help him and just recently he underwent surgery to place a feeding tube. It was like night and day. Zeke is now putting on weight, he has energy and is all smiles. We are so happy to see our little boy thriving again! We hope that he will break the 15lb mark when he turns 13 months next week, after being stuck in 14lbs for 4 months!
To all wonderful moms that have shared their milk with zeke, thank you! you are big part of his recovery. He needs 35-40oz a day to gain his strength back, and he could never tolerate more than 15-20oz of formula. And to all moms that have extra breast milk, we would love if you considered sharing it with zeke! every ounce helps!
thank you!

still in need
2 wonderful mamas have already shared their milk with zeke, but we are low again!
zeke is slowly gaining weight, he has such a small appetite! we can't get him to take more than 18oz a day. his GI recommends putting him on a tube, but his pedi and feeding therapist had said that it's not time yet. they can't agree and they are driving me crazy
In the meanwhile, zeke has learned how to crawl and pull up to a stand and is burning more energy than ever!
We would love if more mamas could share their babies milk with zeke!
thanks,
mandi

got milk for my micropreemie?
Baby Zeke has been losing weight on formula and we haven't found a way to help him. Zeke was born premature at 27 weeks, weighing 2lbs. He now weighs 14lbs at 10 months actual, 7 months adjusted.
After he was delivered my milk never really came in. I think my body wasn't ready to produce, and our baby had a very rough first few weeks, they told us he wouldn't make it several times, so the stress didn't help. But he made it and now he is a smiley 10 month old! very skinny though
I pumped like crazy and with the help of domperidone I managed to provide him with my breast milk the 3 months he spent in the nicu, when he was the most fragile. But my body doesn't respond well to the pump, and I started having mastitis after mastitis, each one leaving me with less supply. We switched him to formula a few months ago, but we haven't found one that he can digest and actually put weight on it. He refuses elemental formulas, and I don't blame him, they taste terrible! Our GI doctor has brought up that he might need to be tube fed for a while, can't afford him losing weight. But obviously we want to avoid going that route if we can. He thrived on breast milk, so we know he can do it.
If you have milk to donate or you think you might have in the future please let me know. Doesn't matter how much, small shipments are ok. My LO body is having a hard time handling formula, and it would be great to be able to give him a break with a little breastmilk every day.
You can send me a message here or call/text at 541 908 2278.
Thank you!
