Milk Needed--Central NY state Empty Running out...

Post by R8chLBeth Wed Dec 15, 2010 10:49 am

Hi everyone,

My supply is starting to dwindle from its high of 4 oz per day. I'm now only able to pump 2 oz per day, and it's getting depressing. I'd like to keep my son at least getting *some* human milk for a couple more months...he's only 2 mos old today. He still nurses a little bit, but he's taking an awful lot of formula.

I'm so afraid that my son's future health will be compromised because my body is incapable of feeding him.

Thanks for considering us...

Milk Needed--Central NY state Empty Milk Needed--Central NY state

Post by R8chLBeth Tue Dec 07, 2010 6:37 am

Hi everyone,

I'm a mother with insufficient glandular tissue, trying to feed my 2 mos old son, in Central NY state. I can make about 4-5 oz of milk per day, after taking many many supplements and pumping as a second job. Right now, he gets what little milk I have, supplemented with a hypoallergenic formula. The formula barely seems like food (first ingredient is corn syrup, closely followed by corn starch), but it's the only food that has allowed him to have normal, regular BMs...ugh. He doesn't seem to be able to tolerate cow's milk formula. I have celiac disease, so I don't know if he tolerates wheat or gluten...but am willing to try it.

I'd really prefer to supplement with human milk, because I had planned on nursing him until he was 2. Now, I'm just trying to make it until he can eat solid foods. Perhaps with your help, we could at least make it to a year.

I'm willing to pay for shipping, supplies, etc. I'd prefer age appropriate and nearby milk (for local antibodies), but I'm not sure beggars can be choosers in this case. If you can help us out, it would be a blessing.

Thanks for considering it,

Rachael Lawrence
