Looking to donate locally long term Empty Looking to donate locally long term

Post by Amaggiepie Tue Aug 03, 2010 10:36 am

Hi there! I’m new to this site and never donated milk before. I'm a working mom of 2 children, ages 3 years and 7 weeks.

I am looking for a long term family to donate to. I started back to work last week so I'm pumping 3x a day at work, and also on weekends. I'm currently making about 5-6 ounces more than my son eats per day, and it seems I get about an ounce more every day I pump (I started out getting 16 ounces and am now up to around 24 in 3 pumpings, and I expect it will continue to climb). I had oversupply with my daughter and I would love to donate my milk this time around instead of letting it go to waste. I am also willing to ship if I cannot find a local family - what I'm looking for is to continue to donate to the same family and to see pictures of the baby, know how he/she is doing, etc.

I have 20-30 ounces available right now since I just started back to work, but I will have at least double that by the end of the week, maybe more. I live in Baltimore County (Essex) and also work in Towson so we could make arrangements for those 2 places if you would like to come pick it up.

I am also open to wet nursing occassionally if it is a local family and that is something you would be comfortable with. Smile

I’m hoping to nurse for the next 2 years, but am looking to donate as long as I am still pumping at work (likely the next year) or until I decide that pumping is too much for me (I may be willing to pump even if I'm not pumping for my child, depending on the recipient family and my feelings at that time).

I have no STDs and can get the test results that the doctors office did while I was pregnant if needed. I am in a committed relationship and have had no other partners for the last 3 years. I don’t take any medications. If I take any medication I’ll let you know before giving you the milk. I don’t smoke or drink. I have a balanced diet, lots of fruits, veggies and protein. I drink one Ensure shake each day. There is very little caffeine in my diet, I usually drink one iced tea a day when I work.

I have an Avent IQ Duo Electric pump so all I ask you to provide are bags (and pay shipping, if shipping is required).

Please email me if interested - Amaggiepie@aol.com

I hope I can bless someone's child with my extra milk.
