got milk in brooklyn/NYC? Empty goat's rue

Post by whoabethy Thu Jul 08, 2010 6:38 pm

Hi Alice,
Based on your recommendation I ordered some goat's rue. Let's see if it works! It definitely tastes gross, and I think it's a little ironic that it's in grain alcohol. Smile If you still have any milk we would definitely be interested. Although, now that Hazel is 7 months there might be someone more needy? Let me know!

got milk in brooklyn/NYC? Empty glandular tissue

Post by adalheid Tue Jul 06, 2010 6:34 pm

Hi, Bethany,

Have you tried goat's rue? I'm just about to try some myself because I have very scant breast tissue and have struggled with low supply. I've been taking the other herbs and domperidone, but recently read that goat's rue actually does put on breast tissue.

I have a modest amount of extra milk each week (daughter will not touch the milk i pump at work to keep up supply) but have just offered it to someone else. If she is not interested then I will offer to you.

Alice

Your daughter is beautiful!

I have plenty of milk to donate if you are still looking for a donor. I can either meet you at my mom's home in Queens (few hundred ounces in her freezer) or at my place in Huntingon (approx. 200+ oz). Let me know if you're interested!

got milk in brooklyn/NYC? Empty got milk in brooklyn/NYC?

Hi there,
My name is Bethany. Our baby, Hazel, was born at 35 weeks in late November. After an emergency c-section, we kept waiting and waiting for my breasts to become engorged. They never did. After meeting with a lactation and consultant and a lactation physician, I was diagnosed with "insufficient glandular tissue" - meaning, for whatever reason, my breasts did not develop properly during my pregnancy. I would never be able to exclusively breastfeed. Needless to say, this was EXTREMELY disappointing.

Right now I am on fenugreek, blessed thistle, and domperidone. I also pump after every feeding. Despite all this, I am still only producing about 8-10oz. of milk a day. Not enough for my hungry baby girl! We have been supplementing with formula, but breastmilk is what I want for Hazel. She has no allergies and I am comfortable with a mama who drinks alcohol and caffeine occasionally.

We have a car so we can pick up breastmilk from you. Thanks for thinking of us! Here is a picture of Hazel:

Thanks,
Bethany
