COST of shipping milk Empty COST of shipping milk

When 30 ounces of breastmilk (10 days supply) is shipped overnight . . . Can someone give us an estimate of the TOTAL weight of packaging (including ice, cooler, milk, newspaper, etc). We are trying to figure out the costs of shipping to determine whether we can afford to do this. Thank you!

A blog Bekki and I both from DS start to help moms looking for donation and wanting to ship...

Videos i made on how to store milk- freeze it - and ship it...

Shipping milk is way EZ- if u can find a mom with in a state or 2 away from u... That has a larger amount of milk. U dont need dry ice (( it will keep it self cool )) ... Just put milk in a cooler take it to the ups store and ship it ground shipping. And if u are close enough will get there next day no matter what u pay for ground shipping. The donor calls the mom getting the milk and she pays for it over the phone...

So fill it, go to ups store... call pay and go!!! very EZ

The blog above has links to online company's u can by coolers from and have them shipped to moms willing to donate!!! The blog also have on how to weight milk ex... and u can get the moms zip and your zip and go to ups.com and fill it in and see the time and $$$... also link on how to find dry ice ex. as well

I just want to add i have Been a donor since first child came early Preemie- in 2006 and i have donate to over 29 babies/familys...

There is also a tool on the UPS site under the shipping tab called "Calculate time and Cost" it may vary with the size of the box but it will give you an estimate or you can get a very detailed cost as there is an option for that as well. But just be sure to pack your milk as compactly as possible with the other box fitting your cooler as snugly as possible to avoid incurring extra cost. I had someone send me milk in a cooler that was only half full and it cost me double what I expected so be sure to be specific when communicating about it. Smile Mary
