How long do you plan to donate / receive milk? Empty How long do you plan to donate / receive milk?

Most of my donors have lasted a year or so and then either by circumstance or choosing decide not to donate anymore. I myself have an 18-month old and am still using small amounts of donor milk (we're using only 5-6oz/day due to our dwindling supply - only have 40oz left). Just curious, if you are a donor, how long do you plan on pumping for another babe, and if you're a recipient, how long do you plan on pursuing donor milk?

I stop pumping for both of my children at one year. Some people could pump in 15-20 minutes and get 8-10 oz easily, each of my pumping session would take up to 30-40 minutes. Betwen a full time job and a long commute, I can't afford to pump longer than one year.

I pumped a year for DS#1 and plan to do the same with DS#2. DS#2 is 7 months so a little less than 5 months to go. I donated my first time when DS#2 was just she of 3 months. I am going to be sad when we stop at a year but happy for the next time period with my little one's.
