Need milk in NOVA Empty Do you still need milk?

Post by 2boysMomma Fri Jun 24, 2011 11:20 pm

I currently live in Quantico and have a 3 month old baby boy. I have so much milk right now, and I need to make room for more in the freezer. I currently freeze around 10 ounces perday. I have no idea if that will continue, but I can give from what I already have dating from April 1st. I am a healthy 31 year old mom of 2. I breastfed my oldest for 14 months and hope to do the same with my newborn! Please let me know if you can use the milk,

Chrystal

REQUEST: Full Supplementation, or any that you can spare!

Reason - Extremely low supply, due to insufficient glandular tissue. I tried everything from day 1-- feeding constantly, pumping every 2 hours, herbs, diet, etc. and never made more than an ounce or 2, max, at a time (often virtually none). Baby lost a lot of weight and at 2 weeks, doctors told me to give him formula. (I wish I had known then that this existed!) I continue to nurse when Alex cooperates (which is rarely) and to pump-- but I'm still unable to provide him with more than 2-3 oz. per day (he needs 28-38).

Time- Looking for long term donation (at least 6 months), but any help is appreciated!! Smile

Child's age- 6 months

Location: Woodbridge, VA. I will, of course, compensate for supplies; pay shipping; etc!

I have been able to give Alex breastmilk from some wonderful donors for the past 2 months, but am extremely low again. He went from projectile vomiting at every feeding on formula to gaining 5 pounds in less than 2 months on donated breastmilk! He was just not able to tolerate formula at all and was miserable on it. He literally went from a fussy, fussy baby to a smiley, happy boy-- and gained 5 pounds in a month!-- after we were able to get him on breast milk. The donated breastmilk has been like magic and we are so thankful for this amazing resource. But of course now I am so afraid of running out and having to give him formula again-- at this point I feel it is like poison. We just had a tragic incident where a wonderful mommy in WA shipped us over 500 oz. with UPS, and UPS damaged it and discarded the whole package. So now we are quite low again... please message me if you have any that you can spare-- we would so appreciate it!!

Thank you SO much to the wonderfully generous and kind women who are donating (and running this)-- it's such a wonderful thing that you are doing. Smile

Please message or e-mail me! Smile
