Bless you for being so generous after such a tragic loss.
If your milk is available I would love to arrange for pick up as I would like to get it to a critically ill child in Ventura, CA.
Prayers and love to you.

Dear Janice,
Your post brought me to tears. What a terrible tragedy and what a beautiful person you are to give Gus' milk to a baby in need. I am sure that Gus knows and approves. The world is a better place for people like you.

Bless you- you are in my prayers.

Janice,

I am so sad to hear about your tragedy. Just reading it has brought me to tears. I cannot imagine what you have gone through and are still going through. You are an incredible person to be helping others when you yourself have been through so much. My heart goes out to you.

I don't know if your milk is still available - if so, I am interested. I am expecting my 2nd child but cannot breastfeed due to a recent bilateral mastectomy (both breasts were entirely removed). I am especially interested in early milk such as what you have, since I know I will be feeding donated milk immediately after my child is born. I live in Connecticut, so either shipping or actual pickup could work. If you are still able to donate, please contact me: munguin at hotmail dot com

My thoughts are with you,
Sara

Willing to ship anywhere: Full Term milk (80oz) - Empty Your Gift

Post by carlene09 Wed Mar 30, 2011 6:29 am

Hi Janice,

Oh my goodness. With the love in your heart, the world is a better place. I was so moved by your post. I'm so sorry that you lost Gus. I hope you are able to heal and remember.

I wish I could use your milk but my baby is older; 7 months. I will keep you in my prayers in hopes that your gift will be helpful to a new baby.

Best and warm regards I love you ,

Carlene

I'm so sorry about your son, Janice! What a horrible turn of events. You are obviously a much stronger person than I am to be able to pump even after all that. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Willing to ship anywhere: Full Term milk (80oz) - Empty Willing to ship anywhere: Full Term milk (80oz) -

Hello,

My son, Gustavo Gabriel, was stillborn on February 15, 2011 due to a umbilical cord accident. He was full term at 40 weeks.
I've been pumping since my milk came in on day 4, with the intent on donating it.

I needed to be on antibiotics (Macrobid) to help treat an UTI for a few days. I was also on a muscle relaxer (Flexeril) to help with the muscle spams that I was suffering from after the induced birth.

I stopped all medications on day 4 and began pumping without any medications in my system. In addition, I've followed the same guidelines posted by Wake Med Milk Bank, and even have a formal letter from my tattoo artist that explains her sterilization methods during her prep from the tattoo I got last year May 2010. I also have my blood work from my doctor proving negative results for the following: Syphilis, Hepatitis B & C & HIV.

Because it became the saddest part of my day, I've needed to stop pumping. I know the formal Milk Banks won't accept most of this milk because of the medications I was on at the start and because I will not meet their minimum 200 oz. requirement for donation.

My midwife and lactation consultant informed me that the milk can be diluted with other donor milk so that it can still be used.

It breaks my heart to imagine throwing my son's milk away.

I would love to be able to offer my milk to a family who really needs the milk.
Perhaps a family with a sickly newborn needing milk? Adoptive parents with a newborn or parents with a sick baby or a mother who is unable to breastfeed?

I now have about 80.5 oz of milk (frozen). It's not much but I offer it with all the love I've saved for my baby.

I've always kept a healthy diet, I'm not a smoker, I do not drink and I haven't any allergies.

Please contact me if interested. I am desperate to get Gus' milk into the right hands.

Warmly,

Janice Quiles-Reyes
