Hi Sara,
I have a 5 week old daughter, Landree and I am very interested in giving her your milk! Let me briefly tell you a little about my(our) situation! Landree was born @ 39 weeks, via c-section. I was very excited about breastfeeding my sweet baby! I wasn't able to nurse until about 6 hours post surgery and when I asked for a lactation consultant to help me, one was not sent until 2 days later...I had to basically teach myself, and Landree how to BF, since my nurse wasn't very helpful! When we were discharged from the hospital, my pediatrician told me to supplement with formula to get Landree to gain weight, (she was 5lbs, 10oz), so I did! After 1 week of BFing and supplementing with formula, I was not expressing any milk..I have been pumping for the past 3 weeks and have only yielded a few teaspoons of milk...I have done everything the lactation consultant has told me to do, and still no milk! Sad I have beat myself up over not being able to provide my precious baby with the best!
Thank you!

Krystal

Looking to Donate around Houston area - Milk has been donated! Empty Looking to Donate around Houston area - Milk has been donated!

I'm looking for a recipient in or around the Houston area. I have a deep freezer literally full of previously expressed breast milk. I have gone through the screening process and have previously donated milk to the Austin Mothers Milk Bank. I have my donor card to verify this. My daughter was a premie and I just simply produced more milk than she could eat.The oldest milk is from last December and she was born on 11/24/09. From my understanding that milk would and should have high nutritional value since it was pumped right after birth. In reading up on the cost mothers have to endure in order to get breast milk from a milk bank I felt I should simply donate it directly to a mommy in need. I have several hundred ounces of milk all labeled with the date and time it was expressed. I refuse to allow this milk to go to waste. I pumped every 2 hours around the clock for 2 months while my daughter was in the NICU.
