milk for Austin baby

Post by dgm on Sat Jun 05, 2010 7:56 pm

Hi Giltrapa.
I just posted a request for milk on the Milkshare website. We just adopted a baby girl in El Paso.
We would love to have some breast milk available when we return to Austin, where we live, sometime next week(June 7-10)
She is having problems digesting baby formula and is in the NICU currently. Let us know if you can help. Thanks so much!
Dean

Hi there,

I have about 40 oz of milk that needs a good home. I've continued to pump at work, even though my son doesn't take bottles anymore while I'm gone. My son is an older baby/toddler; this milk was pumped & frozen from his 18-22 months. I am an OB RN, am very healthy, take no medications except vitamins, and the milk has all been safely stored and frozen per recommendations.

Please email me if you'd like this for your girls. I know it's a recipe designed for an older todder, but it's still so full of rich antibodies and yumminess that I know even a younger baby could benefit.

Go ahead and email me at giltrapa@hotmail if you'd like to get in touch. I live in south Roundrock, off of 620.

thanks,
Allison

Hi there. I'm a mom of twin girls, born on Jan. 11. I'm a breast cancer survivor and can't breast feed because I don't have breasts anymore! My girls have been receiving milk from three wonderful donors in DFW and we just received a one-time donation from a mama in Little Rock. They are getting bigger and stronger and needing more milk so I'm trying to find some local donors so I'm not constantly after my DFW mamas. I live in Kyle but work at UT, so I'm in Austin all the time. I'd love to meet and get to know you if you think you'd like to share your milk with my girls. You can PM me through the board. Hugs!

Austin Texas Area Donation

Post by heathermonic on Sat Mar 27, 2010 2:16 am

I have a 9.5 month old daughter who has received breastmilk only since birth. I still breastfeed while with her and pump while at work. I've built a great freezer stash so much so that I had to buy a deep freezer. I am needing to make some room, and I would hate to dispose of the milk considering all the hard work I done. I would like for my milk to go to a good home. The milk was pumped and frozen 11-2009 thru 12-2009 and kept in a deep freezer the whole time. Im wanting to donate some while still keeping a stash just in case. I store my milk in lansinoh storage bags. I live in the Austin Area and would be willing to meet you if that helps. The only medications I take is prenatal vitamins and I am in good general health. I do not drink or smoke. If you are interested please let me know, and tell me a little about your situation. Im guessing the donation would be between 125-175 ounces.
