I have a freezer full I can donate. Im also in Fayetteville. My husband will be ETSing soon and It's too much of a hassle to bring it with us, so if youre interested let me know. My son is 5 months old and I pump twice what he eats so I have plenty to spare.

24 oz a day needed in Fayetteville

Post by coopersmommy1226 on Tue Feb 14, 2012 4:26 pm

I was just unofficially diagnosed with IGT. My 7 week old son is only getting 1/2 oz - 1 oz each time he nurses from me and I don't respond to a pump but I am contuniing to pump what I can. I am active duty Army and work 12 hour days so I am unable to provide my son with the milk he needs for when he is at the babysitters. My son was 8 lb 12 oz at birth. At two weeks he was 9 lbs (I question if he really was) and at four weeks he was back down to birth weight. Three days later he dropped down to 8 lb 4 oz despite the fact that I was nursing constantly. My midwife had me start supplementing 12 oz a day which has been increased drastically. He is now 7 wks 1 day and has gained a total of 14 oz in the last two week from donor milk. I am doing what I can, taking supplements, domperidone, lactation cookies, fenugreek, nothing is working. I would really like to keep my son on breast milk for the first year and not have to supplement with formula. To make things worse this summer I am deploying for four months and will be unable to provide him any milk. If any moms can help us out we would greatly appreciate it. The lactation councilor has us feeding him 4 oz every 3 hours and after each time I nurse him he gets 3 oz. I live in Fayetteville and am willing to travel but don't have much time. I am pretty much limited to the weekends since I work 12 hour days. Thank you very much I appreciate any and all donations.
