Looking for milk for baby going through Chemo
Re: Looking for milk for baby going through Chemo
I'm 26. I eat as healthy as I can. Hard to cook with Kiera sometimes. She was born a bit over three weeks early, so my milk is very rich and fatty to help her gain much needed weight. I don't have any health issues. I'm still taking pre-natal vitamins, as well as Calcium with Vitamin D. I haven't had to cut anything from my diet for her, so I do eat diary and drink coffee and soda, although I try to not be excessive with the caffeine.
I've lost several family members to cancer and had a few survive. I would love to do what I can to help your son.

Looking for milk for baby going through Chemo
Kai also now has a g-tube (feeding tube) due to failure to thrive. He began loosing weight after his brain surgery in may. I breastfeed successfully untill that time. He continued nursing, but wouldn't eat much else. His began really loosing interest in nursing about a month or 6 weeks ago. As of last week he will no longer nurse at all. I have never gotten much from pumping and with everything going on in our lives that has only gotten worse. I am now working on providing him a diet of 'real' healthy food to feed through his feeding tube I would love for breastmilk to be a part of that diet. I am having a hard time of letting go of all the amazing health benefits breastmilk can provide to him especially since his body is at risk from the chemo.
WE live in central Mass but are also in boston once a week for Chemo.
Thanks
