Milk available (Brooklyn) Empty Milk in Brooklyn

Post by ellenandsteve Fri Aug 31, 2012 1:28 pm

Hi,

I live in Brooklyn and I have a 2 week old daughter. I am pumping, but not making very much milk. I have some frozen milk from a friend, but will run out soon. I also take Zoloft, so it is perfect for me. I can pick up from your home anytime this evening or weekend, since we have a car. Please let me know. It would be wonderful to keep Hannah on breastmilk.

Ellen Cohn

Also, I am just wondering how long you have stored the milk in the freezer? Thanks.

Hi Blondielra, I tried to PM you my contact info but it appears I can't send private messages for 7 days. Can you PM me or post your contact info so that I can get in touch with you? Thanks!

Milk available (Brooklyn) Empty Milk available (Brooklyn)

Post by dpmommy Sat Aug 25, 2012 6:54 am

Hello, I have frozen milk available to donate, and I can also provide fresh milk on an ongoing basis. My little girl is not a good breastfeeder, so I have been pumping since she was 1 week old in order to provide her with breast milk supplements. I am currently pumping about 20 oz per day extra and my freezer is full! I would love to find a recipient for my excess.

I have been taking Zoloft for postpartum depression, so my milk is best for someone who doesn't mind that there will be trace amounts of this medication in the milk. It is considered completely safe for breastfeeding, and my daughter has been thriving. Otherwise I eat a healthy diet, take prenatal vitamins, have minimal caffeine (1 small half-caf coffee each morning) and no smoking. Occasionally a small glass of wine with dinner but obviously I wouldn't give that milk to you!

I live in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn (on the B/Q) and prefer to donate locally to someone in the NYC area who can come to pick up the milk. Please feel free to get in touch with me for more info!
