Looking for older-baby milk Empty Running low on milk - please help!

Post by bhtimm Wed May 04, 2011 7:36 am

Hi there,
We're running low on milk (45oz left) and my 21-month old DD goes through about 35oz of milk a day total; she is a very fussy eater lately. I'd like at least part of the amount she gets a day to be breastmilk for the nutritional properties. I originally took milk that was within 4 months of my DD's age, but now I'm willing to consider any milk from moms > than a year postpartum.

Bumping...We've actually got 4 donors, 3 of them from Eats on Feets, with older babies so we've done very well! Down to 70oz in the freezer but that should go up by the holidays.

Hi everyone,
We've had a wonderful donor and mother to a 15-month old in Iowa who is giving us 360oz today. This should take us 1.5 - 2 months and then as my daughter is over a year old, if we do not get any more donations we will wean almost entirely to cow's milk (my daughter will still nurse so she'll get a meager amount of breastmilk from me still). We live in Madison, WI but I am willing to drive to IL and IA to pick up milk.

I understand we are definitely not first priority as my baby's perfectly healthy...but in case anyone's got breastmilk from an older baby to share and wants it to go to another older baby we will take it!

We will consider milk as "young" (that being the age of the baby when it was pumped) as 9 months old. Much younger than that and I think we'll pass!
