Hi there! I live in Little Mountain, SC! Trying to make a good stash of breastmilk for my almost three month old. He's still getting a small amount of breastmilk that was donated from my local birthing center but is mostly having to take formula. Would love to continue giving him as much breastmilk as I can for as long as I can. I had to stop nursing due to supply issues and having to go on certain medications. I want my son to have the best in terms of his health! would love to receive your breastmilk. My email is cayceus@yahoo.com if you are intested in donating to our family! Thanks so much!

My name is Jennifer and I am the Mommy of Jacob Christopher who is 3.5 years old. Why am I telling you about a 3.5 year old? Because he has SMA type I, the most severe form of Muscular Dystrophy and he has outlived his prognosis of 1 year by almost 3!!!! We think alot of this is because we have used breastmilk with him since he was born. I pumped for him until he was 2.5 since he lost his ability to suck at 3 months. At 2 we went to a breastmilk bank to supplement and eventually take over when I stopped producing and used them for a while, but then learned they were falsifying wht they were billing for and insurance cut us off and made them pay back everything they had charged. So, for the past 9 months I have had a wonderful mother in Durham whom I met off MilkShare who has been donating to us. She has just stopped making milk and we are in search of a new generous mother to help us out.

A little history, Spinal Muscular Atrophy causes children to lose all voluntary muscle use. In Jake's case, he cannot sit, crawl, or walk. He cannot talk, eat or swallow. He eats everything by g-tube and we have to watch every bit of protein and fat he consumes because he lacks the musculature to process and use proteins and an overlaod can prove toxic in his little body. Therefore, we use breastmilk. The medium chain protein and fats are perfect for his digestive system and his body to process. He has done so well, he has never lost weight and is still on the doctor's growth charts for both weight and height. he also has a fatty-acid metabolism disorder that does not allow him to digest long-chain fats and protein.

Now that I have given you a science lesson...LOL! I hope you will look at Jake's website to learn more about him and SMA and that you will consider donating to us. I could come pick up this weekend if you are willing. My personal email is jgood03@windstream.net

Sincerely,
Jennifer Goodson

I am the Mommy to a beautiful 1 month old who produces a very nice milk supply. I would love to find a family in real need of my extra breastmilk. I do not drink, smoke or anything else along those lines and I eat healthy. We are a crunchy family who believes in cloth diapering, baby wearing and of course breastfeeding. My baby is extremely healthy and gaining weight very nicely while being exclusively breastfed. If you have a serious need (prematurity, failure to thrive, etc) please contact me.
