Hi Megan,
I just saw your post that you have 70 ounces. Did someone take it?? I just had my baby a week ago and have been breastfeeding nonstop, but found out today that I do need to supplement. I'm desparate to find some milk near me...but I'm wondering if I've missed your boat??

thank you!

Hi Mary,

Do you still need milk? I just posted, then read your post. I currently have about seventy ounces. I live in Kensington (not too far away) and would be happy to donate my extra milk to you.

My own son is nearly five months now, and he's been happily breastfed the whole time. I am HIV negative (had all the tests during pregnancy) am not a smoker or on any medications.

Let me know if you still need help.

Are you in Brooklyn? Whereabouts?
You are so very generous!! I would love to take your extra milk off your hands. I am due in about 5 weeks. I'd love to make a pick-up next week or the week after so that I'll have some frozen milk on hand when the babe is born.
My midwife told me to ask prospective milk-donors these 3 pre-cautionary questions:
1. have you had an HIV test in the last year?
2. are you a smoker?
3. are you on any medications?

I'll say, I'm feeling pretty trusting of anyone who wants to donate milk, especially given that in every case they are feeding their own baby! That said, I appreciate so much your willingness to answer. Also, if you'd prefer, feel free to write back to me privately: marymulls@hotmail.com

thank you so, so, so much,
Mary.

need milk, brooklyn! Empty need milk, brooklyn! - possible donor in Bronx

Post by jessi.black Mon Aug 30, 2010 5:47 pm

Hi,

I had my daughter August 27 and she has been a voracious eater - and as a result I already have started pumping milk that she won't be having. I plan to freeze all my extra milk and will be looking for someone to pick up locally. This is my second baby and for my first I donated through milk-share very successfully. Let me know if you would be interested and any information you would like to know about me.

Hi Everyone,
I am expecting my first baby early October. I had a necessary breast surgery 10 years ago that will, most likely, dramatically affect my milk supply. I would really, really like to supplement with human milk and am so grateful that this site (and you generous donors) exist!

I live in Flatbush, Brooklyn, I can pick up easily from manhattan or brooklyn, and pretty easily from queens. I'd love to have a relationship established with a donor or two, and a few bottles' worth of milk on hand before my baby is born. So...I'm looking to get some milk by early-mid September.

Please contact me with any questions. I want to say it is our deep respect for the choice to breastfeed, as well as our understanding of the far-superior quality of breast milk vs. formula that has us reaching out in advance of our birth. (re: we know that breast milk is gold!)

718-797-3595.
thank you!
Mary.
