Do you still have any milk available? I have 11 month old twins who were born prematurely at 29 1/2 weeks...I am able to nurse Davy, and pump some for Sammy, but don't get enough for him. Sammy has swallowing problems and so he can't nurse or eat solids well and we have to thicken the breastmilk in order for him to be able to swallow it. He also has trouble gaining weight and doesn't gain on formula so we are trying to keep him on just breastmilk. If you do have some available or may have some on a regular basis we live in Mounds View and would be more than willing to pick it up on a regular basis. We have received milk from other moms before so are used to the process. We will bring you whatever pumping supplies you need as well as bottles or bags for you to store the milk in.
Thank you so much for being willing to donate your milk to a family in need.

Some Extra Milk in Brooklyn Park Empty Some Extra Milk in Brooklyn Park

Post by lindsaymj928 Wed Nov 17, 2010 1:01 pm

My daughter just started daycare and she's not too fond of bottles and is already starting solids. She's 4 months old. I am expressing about 15 oz/day and she only eats 6-10, so I am freezing an extra 20-30 oz/week. This is my 3rd week back so I don't have a huge freezer stash, but I hope to find someone who I can give the extra to each week as an ongoing thing (I can even give you the milk fresh rather than frozen this way). I had contacted the local milk bank but i'd rather donate directly if possible.

About me: I'm 26 years old, very healthy, take no meds at all, have not had any alcohol for over 5 years, have maybe 1 cup of tea per day (at night, so this shouldn't really show up in my expressed milk). I eat a strict halal diet (no pork or alcohol, only meats we buy are from the halal grocery). I have a 3 year old son who was completely breastfed (still trying to wean him completely Neutral ) and my 4 month old daughter, both happy and healthy kids.

Let me know if I'd be a good match for your family, I'd love to help out. I'd appreciate it if you could just provide me with whatever milk storage options you prefer for your milk, as I don't have a whole lot of bottles/bags. I live in Brooklyn Park and work in Downtown Minneapolis so it would be great if you are near one of these areas. I have donated milk in the past when my son was very young and I had a freezer supply to give away when we were moving; it is a very rewarding thing to do Smile

Thanks.
