How to get donated breast milk

Post by kristin7 on Mon Nov 08, 2010 2:26 pm

My husband and I just got matched to adopt a new born due in January and the first thing I thought about was how to get donated breast milk. How do you get enough? what are all the sources of donated breast milk? what do I need to be watchful for to make sure it is safe? (I assume if anyone is good enough to donate that they are helpful, but my husband is a little concerned.) How do you get enough for at least 6 months to a year? How many ounces do you need per day for the first couple of months? Can someone start freezing it now and it will still be good in January? If anyone can help me with all these questions...THANK YOU.
