Used pump for milksharing Empty Used pump for milksharing

I am due with my second baby soon and I'd like to be a donor. I am a SAHM and have no need for a double electric pump for myself, but if I'm going to donate I need one and it's a big expense. A friend of a friend has a barely used PIS she's willing to sell me cheaply, and I'm confident she has a clean medical history, but is this something that would be unacceptable to recipients? I already told her I'd take it, but now I'm having cold feet that I would be doing something dishonest with anyone who accepts my milk or that no one will want it. Anyone have any advice?

You can just buy new parts for it if you're worried. I let my cousin borrowed my pump and she just boiled my parts and had no issues. I had to get a new pump after that one, though, so it came with all new pieces.

I don't think there is any problem with that as long as you get new tubing and clean the parts really good before you use them- thanks for being a donor!!! such a kind thing to do for us

I will definitely getting all the replacement parts, but technically the pump in style is a one person pump (it's not a closed system like a hospital pump) and milk can potentially get into the inner workings. I'm glad to hear most people don't have a problem with it though!
